Delta Wuhan R&D center inaugurates new building with a focus on data center innovation

Delta has unveiled its largest facility in the Central China region, the New Wuhan Research and Development Center Building. Covering a total area of 15,300 m² (4,628 ping), the center will prioritize research and innovation in various areas, including data centers, 5G communication equipment, electric vehicle charging, vehicle-to-everything, new energy and smart microgrids, industrial IoT, and smart manufacturing. Additionally, it will enhance collaboration with local customers and universities in Wuhan, playing a significant role in promoting inclusiveness, innovation, digitalization, and low-carbon practices.

Delta’s new Research and Development center in Wuhan, China, has been inaugurated.

Mark Ko, Vice Chairman of Delta, emphasized that innovation is at the heart of Delta’s sustainable development. Delta annually allocates 8% of its global revenue to innovative research and development, with over 70 research centers located worldwide. Delta has more than 30 research and development centers and laboratories in mainland China. These centers and laboratories focus on providing cleaner, more efficient, and reliable energy-saving solutions in various fields, including smart manufacturing, green buildings, low-carbon data centers, and automotive electronics.

Dr. Zhang Jin-Fa, Director of Delta Shanghai and Hangzhou Design Center and Head of Wuhan Research and Development Center, provided further details on the focus of the Wuhan Research and Development Center. The center will prioritize innovation in the field of data centers and network infrastructure, offering products and solutions including power supply for data centers, overall solutions, rack and server solutions, high-efficiency server power supplies, and immersive liquid cooling power supplies. These products and solutions are characterized by their higher reliability, lower energy consumption, reduced investment, smaller space requirements, and shorter construction periods.

Professor Kang Yong of Huazhong University of Science and Technology expressed gratitude for the “Delta Power Electronics Science and Education Development Program” that was established in 2000 by Mr. Bruce C.H. Cheng, the founder of Delta. This program has made significant contributions to talent cultivation, scientific research advancement, and technological exchange in the field of power electronics in China.

Delta has been dedicated to researching and developing cutting-edge technologies, with a focus on products, factories, and green buildings to achieve energy savings and carbon reduction. Furthermore, we will also focus on expanding our production, research, and development capabilities. Additionally, we are committed to accelerating the construction of our production base in the western region.
